“GASTRONOMIC FESTIVAL OF THE MOUNTAIN AND THE FOREST” – Elatohori, Pieria (video)

October 19-20, 2024

Once again, @meat_and_grill_stories and @hellenicbbqteam presented unique grilling techniques and fire-based gastronomy from around the world!

The festival was organized in Elatohori by the Cultural and Tourism Department of the Municipality of Katerini, in collaboration with local organizations and under the auspices of the EOT (Greek National Tourism Organization). Meat & Grill Stories, along with the Hellenic BBQ Team, handled the outdoor activities in the mountain, carrying out cooking demonstrations with local meat-based products! The celebration of flavors and aromas, with an especially great response and visitor participation, uniquely connected local gastronomy with nature, the local people, and the customs of the region.

What we made for the FESTIVAL and its visitors:

• New Orleans fire pit, with a whole 50kg black pig from FOTIADI FARM, cooked for 10 hours, butterflied

• Black pig souvlaki from FOTIADI FARM, marinated in Mediterranean marinade and cooked on a Cypriot FUKU grill

• Tandoori souvlaki with tender chicken thigh, marinated for 8 hours in yogurt and sweet red pepper
• Smoked pulled pork on a Traeger Pellet Grill Ironwood 885, served in tortillas with Kentucky BBQ sauce

• Smoked chickens in a Roaster Oven, Hanging Grill, for 8 hours, served with Alabama sauce
